The Foundation for Support and Protection of Compatriots’ Rights Opens in Kaliningrad
Today, June 30, 2026, in Kaliningrad, a branch of the "Foundation for Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad" began operating.
The new center will become a western outpost for protecting the rights and legitimate interests of Russian compatriots, primarily those living in the Baltic states.
The branch has opened at Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Foundation’s Executive Director Alexander Udaltsov, branch head Anastasia Turkina, and representatives of government and public organizations and the expert community.
Speaking at the opening, Anastasia Turkina noted that today many compatriots abroad face serious restrictions on their rights: opportunities to use the Russian language, receive education in their native language, preserve historical memory, and freely visit memorials and monuments to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War are being curtailed. According to her, the branch’s main task is to minimize, through all available legal mechanisms, the harm inflicted on our compatriots and provide them with qualified assistance.
The Foundation’s Executive Director Alexander Udaltsov emphasized that opening the branch specifically in Kaliningrad will make support significantly more accessible to residents of the Baltic states, who will now find it easier to seek legal assistance than to travel to Moscow.
Despite statements by the Lithuanian authorities expressing their intention to prevent the branch from opening, the center has begun operating and will consistently fulfill its main mission—to protect the rights of Russian compatriots, provide them with legal support, and help preserve the Russian language, culture, and historical memory.
📢 As part of the opening, a round table was held on issues related to protecting the rights of Russian compatriots abroad.
The event was attended by Path Home project head Anatoly Bublik.
🏠 The Path Home project will also operate from the Foundation’s new branch.
Through joint efforts, we will provide legal, advisory, and organizational assistance to our compatriots who find themselves in difficult life circumstances, ensuring comprehensive support for those who truly need it.
